10 Things We Love About Jaxon!

10. He has amazing dimples.

9. He likes to be rocked and cuddled.

6. He has the heart of his Daddy. They are both so sweet.

5. He sleeps almost 3 hours every day and still takes naps on the bench during sacrament meeting at church.

Jaxon is 3!

Jaxon's 3rd birthday and my grandmother's 84th birthday were Saturday June 19th. To celebrate we went to see Toy Story 3 then played games at Chuck-e-cheese on Friday. Saturday we headed to Medieval Times with family and friends.

I have been to Medieval Times in both Vegas and New York, but it was not nearly as entertaining as the tournament in Buena Park, CA. Maybe it was because the boys were so enthralled.

We were on the Red Knight's side. Of course he was victorious! Jaxon and Daniel were in complete shock. Their little faces were priceless. I have never seen them both sit still this long before! When they were not sitting in a dead stare they were chanting "Red Knight! Red Knight!"

A big Thank You to all of our family and friends who drove through rough traffic on the 91 to come celebrate with us. We love you and love spending time with you!

And of course what would be a celebration without Johnny's enthusiasm? He was very loud! I thought Wesley would freak out with Johnny screaming Montey Python and Princess Bride quotes in his ear all night but he was more interested in his red flag than anything else!

San Diego Wild Animal Park

Yesterday we went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It was great. The boys were very excited to see all the animals. I was excited to get in with a mom's group in the area and only pay $12 admission for the 4 of us!

Daniel and Jaxon really were amazing. They listened, followed directions, and didn't fight. Well not much anyway. Wesley chilled in the stroller. There was a splash area where we sat to eat lunch. The ground was slippery and you could hear the sound of little bodies smacking the ground just about every thirty seconds. Luckily no one was hurt.

The highlight of the day was without a doubt the Lorikeet feeding area. Well worth the $3. I had the guy with the nectar separate it into two cups thinking Jaxon and Daniel could each have one. No strollers were allowed inside the exhibit of course so I was holding Wesley. There I was holding Wesley and the two cups of nectar when I entered the bird area. I was literally swarmed by birds. They were on my head, Wesley's head, my back, my hands and arms. I couldn't even hand Daniel and Jaxon the cups or they would spill.

My friend started calling me the Bird Lady. Wesley was in shock. Jaxon and Daniel were super excited until one of the birds hopped on Daniel's shoulder. Daniel started screaming and crying until a worker came and removed the bird. Only after the bird on him was gone did he want to have a bird on his arm.

There were some major hills at the Wild Animal Park. Many times I had to take off my sandals and run up the hills pushing the 3 boys in the stroller or I would have never made the climb. What was at the top? The elephants! There were 3 new baby elephants. They were adorable and we reached the top just in time for their feeding so we had a close-up view. Jaxon climbed up on a wood lock box and started making elephant noises. It was seriously annoying so I asked him to stop. Just then one of the baby elephants was upset his mother would not stand still so he could nurse and started making the SAME noise Jaxon had been making. It was cute coming from the elephant! Jaxon was very proud of himself.

We stayed until almost 3pm which is way past nap time. Jaxon was so tired his feet were dragging on the ground and he would fall every few minutes. He did wake up just enough to try and pet some very aggressive geese who were blocking the path. Jaxon freaked out when the goose snapped at his shoe. It should not have been funny, but it was. He jumped so high! Poor Wesley slept in the stroller for only a short time. All three were exhausted. It made for a quiet ride home!

Finger food

Wesley has been eating more finger foods recently. With 8 teeth this little man really loves to chomp! Some foods work better than others. He loves crackers, black and pinto beans. Cut-up grapes are a favorite. Green beans a go! He even likes tiny pieces of lunch meat. Plums were probably a little too squishy for finger foods, but he loved it. He REALLY loved it!

Devil's Night Drive-In

Saturday night I went to a girl's night out in LA with my sister, Mom, and friends. We hit up a great little Chinese place in China town then headed to the Devil's Night Drive-In to see Labyrinth. It was so much fun. Roller Derby girls were the car hops and the weather was perfect. The drive-in is actually on top of a parking structure. It was great. I would love to take the kids some time.

My sister Jeanine was so tired she feel asleep before we even got to the bog of eternal stench part of the movie. She slept until my camera flashed.

Hiking

Johnny had the day off on Monday so instead of heading off to Lego Land which was my vote we went to Idyllwild for a hike! It was such a beautiful day. I am glad Johnny had such as great idea. Jaxon would almost face plant every now and then but we held his hand and caught his falls. Daniel would point out all the lizards. Wesley would laugh and squeal with delight.

The trail was called the Ernie Maxwell trail. It really was great for the kids. Not too steep and not too many rocks. For some reason I was under the impression that the 2.6 miles was a loop trail that would take us back to our car where we started, but that was not the case. We got about half way when we asked another hiker when the trail turned around. They said it was a one way hike so we sat down, ate lunch, then turned around. The weather was perfect. The boys and the dog were perfect.

Daniel would not look at the camera for me because I confiscated his walking stick. He wanted to take it home and wrap it in Christmas paper so it would look nice.

What an amazing world Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created for us to enjoy!

Picking Blueberries

We went to the Temecula Berry Company last week to pick blueberries with my friend Crystal and her two kids. I have never eaten blueberries warm, but these were so amazing you really could eat them right off the bush. Not that you were allowed to eat them off the bush, but Jaxon started eating them then the boys started feeding them to Wesley. As a mother I just wouldn't feel right without making sure it was safe. :o)

We filled two buckets full of blueberries. $25 later we walked away with 5 pints. We have all been loving them especially Wesley. If they were not so expensive I would have bought even more!

Yeah for berry season!

Fruit Snacks

I found these fruit snacks for Jaxon yesterday. I have checked out this brand previously but never noticed them before. I am not sure if they are a new product. They are Annie's Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks. They come in 2 flavors. The main ingredients are mostly Tapioca products. Jaxon loves them! Surprisingly I found them at Wal-Mart! (Sorry Jeanine, yes I do shop at Wal-Mart). Still almost $4 for a box of 5 snacks, but well worth the look on his face when I handed him his own package of fruit snacks. I bet Whole Foods and Sprouts would carry them as well.
