A few weekends ago we went to Bagdad Arizona (a small copper mine community where two of Johnny's brothers work) so all the brothers/sons/friends etc. could go on a camp out together. It was also the weekend of my nephew's baptism. It was a lot of fun and I am glad we went. Johnny needed the time with his brother and friends and our two older boys needed some time camping with daddy. I on the other hand needed some girl time and a break from having all three boys at once.
It was nice to have a large number of the cousins all play together. There are over twenty grandchildren (and constantly counting) on Johnny's side. The boys spent most of their time finding "treasure" on the mountain out the back door and jumping on the trampoline with the sprinklers on.
After the boys left for the camp out the girls (plus Wesley) loaded into my car and took off to Prescott Arizona (the closest shopping and entertainment to Bagdad) to watch a movie and stay in a cheap motel. When I say cheap I really do mean cheap! The first thing we did was barricade the door!
The place had 3 queen beds per room and we spent quite a bit of time breaking in the beds. According to my sister-in-law cheap motels are the perfect place to practice jumping on the bed.
It was fun hanging out with all the young nieces and listening to their conversations about life and school problems. Wesley was catered to as he had never been before and soaked it all up! The next morning we tried to find a place for pedicures but came up empty. Of course we ended up at Claire's in the mall picking out cheap jewelry and hair pieces.
