Accidents happen...

Johnny came home yesterday and very casually mentioned to me that he slipped while at work. I stopped and looked at him for a second then started asking questions. It turns out "slipping" to him means falling about 3 feet before his safety belt caught him hanging 30 feet in the air. I tried to remain calm while asking my questions, but I was kind of freaking out on the inside. It turns out he could tell he was going to fall before it happened because he was standing on a rope that was slipping. While standing on the slipping rope he had to try and swing one leg over a piece of steele. I know that is what the safety belt is for and he has sworn on his life (literally) that he always uses all of his safety equipment. Needless to say I didn't sleep well last night.

A great big nothing AGAIN!

The most exciting thing that happened at my appointment today was when I dropped a manila envelope full of our mail in the toilet while leaving a "sample. " Exciting, I know!

This week was not as much of a let down as last week because I expected it, but still. He said I have not progressed any. I said "not even one cm?". The doctor laughed and told me I can tell people I am a one if I want, but really I am not. The head is down but not dropping at all. I can feel this kid's feet way up under my right ribs all the time and it is hard to breath sometimes. The doctor promised an induction date of 09/02. If I have to wait until then I am going to schedule it for Friday 09/04 in the afternoon. My original due date was 08/29 so that is not as late as it sounds. Johnny has Saturday-Monday off for the Labor day holiday. He doesn't get paid when he is not working so really it makes more sense for us to wait two more days. That is more convenient for my family watching the boys as well.

This baby reminds me more and more of Daniel every second. Stubborn! I was 10 days late with him, but at least I was progressing. I can do it again! I will survive until the 4th! I am not afraid of having a big baby. Daniel was 8lb 2oz. In my family that is not big. I was 9lb 2oz and my little sister was over 11lbs.

I guess this means my mom doesn't have to worry about me going into labor at the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball game this weekend. I am trying to make the most of my last week(s) of freedom before Mr. Wesley graces us with his presence.

My one worry: rumors Johnny's crew is being transferred to Rosemond, CA in the near future. Please just let it be after Labor Day.

Skirball Center

Last Thursday I took the boys to the Skirball Center in LA. My sister gave me some 50% passes so it was not expensive and if I wanted to fight the crowd Thursday is always free. They have a really amazing Noah's Ark Exhibit. We went almost a year and a half ago but of course because of the age of my kids it was much better this time around. If you ever have a chance you should check it out.

My blog formatting is giving me issues at the moment so I am not able to post the pictures, but trust me it was really AMAZING! Sorry I can not spell check either...

There were all kinds of animals made out of the coolest things. Most of the aminals have moving parts the kids can turn or pull to make noise or control the movements of the animals. Everything is very hands on. There was a conveyor belt so the kids can load the animals in the ark two by two as well as pumps for water to make the ark float.

Each section progressed through the ark. The first was outside where we loaded the ark. The second room was filled with animals and food as well as animal stalls. The third section was a giant rope course to climb through the ark and the last section was a craft and story time area. The boys just loved it. Well Jaxon loved it until the last hour when he decided he had not taken a long enough nap and was going to throw a tantrum, but I didn't want to make Daniel leave when he was doing so well. I was getting a lot of nasty looks from other people but Jaxon calmed down eventually so we stayed longer.

A great big NOTHING!

Yep! That is right. A great big NOTHING! That is what the last few weeks of contractions has got me. Dialated at all? Nope. Effaced? Nope. Nothing!

Usually I am a very content prego lady, and I am not too anxious to have this new little member of our family arrive ahead of schedule, but still. A little progress would be appreciated! I am not really unconfortable, most of my clothes still fit and I have only gained 23 pounds, so really I have nothing whatsoever to complain about. My feet are not even swelling much. I have very easy pregnancies compared to some. I just want this baby here prior to 09/01/09 (even though that would be a really easy date to remember). Just please let me have this kid in August. September seems so late!

Tomorrow I go off the top 8 most common allergens to prepare to nurse our new little man. It is easy to say but VERY hard to do. The top 8 include: wheat, eggs, soy, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish. Little Wesley has a 60% chance of having the same condition as Jaxon. When I went to the doctor today I was looking for a little hint of...something. If you have ever been prego you know what I mean.

One week down

We have lived in our new "home" for one week now and I actually like it. Really! There is less to clean, I don't feel claustrophobic like I thought I would, and there is a lot to do around this area.

My big accomplishments:

1. Learning to take short enough showers to finish before the hot water runs out.

2. The first few days I was setting off the fire alarm at least 2-3 times per day. I am now down to once a day if at all.

3. I can wash 4 loads at once in the laundry room. There is a ramp that the boys like to run up and down while I work and a cabinet where Daniel likes to stick Jaxon. Overall not as torturous as I thought.

4. I figured out how to put out the trailer awning all by myself. It only took 3 tries and about an hour overall, but so far so good.

5. I found the local parks and recreation department and am enrolling Daniel in T-ball as well as a preschool with a lady in my ward.

Thursday night we went to a huge fair in downtown where they had crafts for the kids as well as a bouncer. Johnny LOVED all the food from the street vendors.

Daniel and Jaxon did a flower run (cake walk). Daniel and Jaxon did it together. Jaxon was running for his life and had a huge smile on his face the whole time. Daniel on the other hand was crying that Jaxon was not running fast enough and wouldn't hold his hand. It was hilarious. I am just glad they were not run over by the bigger kids. On the way out we stopped by a space museum and the boys sat in the space pod.

We also we went out to dinner with my parents and grandmother one night and my sister and my grandmother another night. I enjoy living close enough to see my family frequently. Tomorrow is a BBQ at my sister's home in LA.

The other day we were driving on the freeway and Johnny pointed out the tower they are currently building. You can see it in the distance in the following picture. They are working where the crane is to the left. Their crew usually builds 1 1/2 to 2 towers per week (working 6/10s). I see the guys climbing all over the steel as I run errands in Palmdale. At first it kind of freaked me out knowing he was up there like a monkey. He just laughs and tells me how far he was hanging out, but I know he has safety straps on and I guess I am getting used to it. He really works hard and I am so proud of him.

My main concern now is how will he get from way up there to me, and then with me to the hospital when it is time for the baby to come? I hope this will be my 3rd midnight delivery. I want him home with me when I go into labor so I don't have to worry about him trying to make it down a mountain to take me to the hospital.

Trailer Life

Yesterday was the big move and all went well...except for the fact that we got a whole 5 MPG pulling the trailer up here. Ouch! Daniel was excited to sleep in his new bunk bed. He actually slept all through the night and has had no trouble with the bunk ladder. Jaxon is having issues touching all the buttons but other than that we are very comfortable. We went swimming at the pool and checked out the laundry room & play area. It is all very nice for a camp ground. Johnny bought me my own roll out grass. Yeah! This lifestyle is going to take some getting used to, but for the most part I am just excited to be with Johnny again.

Here are a few little things I have learned in my one whole day of trailer life...

1. 2.5 gallons of hot water does not last long enough for me to shave my legs.

2. Everything must be picked up constantly or we will be walking on top of each other.

3. I have to start saving my quarters for laundry day.

4. Read the instructions before trying to light the oven pilot light or the trailer will smell like propane and everyone will become light headed.

5. I will have to grocery shop almost every other day to accommodate our tiny refrigerator.

Today we had our first day in the Agua Dulce ward. The church is the same no matter where you go! We were VERY warmly welcomed. A ward this small is super excited to have new people move in. When I say small I mean Jaxon was one of 4 kids in nursery and Johnny was one of 7 in Elders Quorum. There were maybe 15-20 women in RS. We are definitely not in Mesa anymore! Sacrament meeting was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. My kids were by far the loudest and we were sitting behind a family of 7 children all age 7 and under! The Bishop called us in to his office with the RS Pres., the Elders Quorum Pres., and the ward clerk to make sure we will be well taken care of especially when the new baby comes. I have already been invited to a baby shower, enrichment, a feed the poor activity, and the Elders Quorum activity at McDonalds on Sat. morning.

Tomorrow we go exploring to find some fun activities for the boys such as parks and malls. I also need to find grocery stores. Finding food for Jaxon has been difficult so far, but I was told about a few places I am going to try and locate. Thank you Jena for the shipment of Gluten free spelt bread. You are a life saver! Since we are right in the middle of Santa Clarita and Palmdale/Lancaster I have options in both directions. This should be the first of many adventures.
